Goodreads Synopsis:

Tess is the exact opposite of her beautiful, athletic sister. And that’s okay. Kristina is the sporty one, Tess is the smart one, and they each have their place. Until Kristina is diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly Tess is the center of the popular crowd, everyone eager for updates. There are senior boys flirting with her. Yet the smiles of her picture-perfect family are cracking and her sister could be dying. Now Tess has to fill a new role: the strong one. Because if she doesn’t hold it together, who will? -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Imagine you are 15 years old.  You are in high school and this is supposed to be the time of your life. The only thing that you should be worried about is if you are going to past the test next week in English.  And then the unthinkable happens.  Your older sister is diagnosed with cancer.  What would you do?  How would you deal with this type of news?  Well that is what happened to Tess.

She had everything that she could dream of.  The world's greatest friend, an awesome family, and a sister that is somewhat cool.  And then it all comes crumbling down. I am closer to my sisters now then I have even been.  I don't know what I would do if I was ever put into this situation.  My sisters mean the world to me, and I never want anything bad to happen to them!:)

Tess's sister was the most popular girl in school.  Everyone loved her and wanted to be like her and now things will never be the same.  But Tess needs to be strong because she is the only one in her family that is capable of doing that right now.  Her mom is in denial and her dad is never around.  She has to be there for her sister.  The same way I would be for mine.  I don't know how she is able to hold it together.  She is only 15!!!  I know what your are saying....she is just a character in a book?!?!?!  Not for me.  This book was amazing and I felt like I was in the book, living the story.  This book was indescribable.  It was so good!

If you need an great easy read, this book is for you.  I would defiantly read this book again and again.  :)

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars!  Great job Janet!!!!:)

Review: Saving June

Saving June
By: Hannah Harrington
Publisher: Harlequin
Release Date: November 22, 2011
Pages: 322
Source: Kindle version bought for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

When her older sister commits suicide and her divorcing parents decide to divide the ashes, Harper Scott takes her sister's urn to the one place June always wanted to go: California. On the road with her best friend, plus an intriguing guy with a mysterious connection to June, Harper discovers truths about her sister, herself and life. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

This book was really hard for me to finish just because I don't want to thing about if I lost one of my sisters.  I am one of six girls.  I talk to my sisters everyday and I love each and everyone of them dearly.  I would not  know how to do deal with it if one of them past a way.  But this is why this book was so good.  It was very emotional and breathtaking.  It was so well written.  It kept the pages moving and turning.  And I love that about a book.

You meet Harper.  Harper is a teenage girl that should be loving life because she is about to go into her senior year of high school.  She should be looking forward to homecoming, football games, basketball games, and prom.   But she is having to deal with a funeral for her sister.  Her sister decided to take her own life.  But she doesn't know way.  While at the wake she decides that she is going to do something for June.  She is going to respect her sister and take her ashes to California and put them in the ocean.  She is doing this because she knows that that is what June would want.  So she embarks on this road trip with her best friend and one of June's friend.  Her friend Jacob that is the hard rocker type that works at a music store.  I have to tell you that I love when books incorporate music into them.  I think that it is so amazing!

This book was so good.  It reminded me a lot of Audrey, Wait!  You really feel the heart break and emotions that run through the characters.  You want things to happen for them not happen to them.  I would recommend this book anyone that needs a good cry and a good read!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars!

Review: Pandemonium

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)

Pandemonium
By: Lauren Oliver
Publisher: HarperCollins
Release Date: February 28, 2012
Source: ARC given for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school,
push,
push,
push,
like Raven taught me to do.
The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

FIRST OF ALL!!!  If you haven't read Delirium you must go and read it right now!  It is defiantly one of the best books I have ever read in my life.  And this book is not far from it.  I received this book from NCTE from Harper! Thank you so much.  I could not wait to read this book.  For the last couple weeks I have been told that I have to read it.  That it is amazing!  And boy is it ever.

The book starts where the first book finishes. The chapters are split in Now and Then. You are learning about Lena's experiences on finding herself. She is trying to figure out who she is because Lena is not the normal Lena anymore.  She is different because she has to be.  She is in the Wilds and she is trying to survive.  She is learning to do things that she has never done before to pull her weight with the Wilds.  I really like that Lauren incorporated this into the story.  It showed her struggle with what she had to do.  It showed that she was having a hard time dealing with the death of Alex.

But during this you find out about Julian.  Julian is a very important.  He is about to be cured and he is doing it because this is what his family wants.  But there are some hold ups because Julian and Lena are kidnapped and held hostage.  They are going to do anything to get out and escape to the Wilds.  Oh but have no fear....there are twist and turns!  Boy are there twist and turns!

This is my favorite book of the series so far!  I know that we still have book three so I need to wait unit that book comes out to make my decision, but this is defiantly up there for book of the series!  Maybe book of the year....but ask me again in December...:)

My Rating:

I am giving this book 5 out 5 stars!

Inbetween Cover.jpg

Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s
life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving
“accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so
Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling
in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who
makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate
has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him
hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn't let her die before,
and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves
from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the
only thing he has left…his soul.

I think this book sounds really good.  I can not wait to get my heads on it!

Goodreads Synopsis:

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias' death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.  -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

I am a sucker for dystopians...  I think there are the best thing since slice bread.  And this book is no exception for that.  This book was pure amazingness and epicness all wrapped up in one.  In my opinion the book was a little slow in the beginning.  But don't worry, it doesn't stay that way long.

The book is told in two characters point of views.  You have June and Day.  June is the rich girl who is extremely smart and is training to become a soldier for the Republic.  And Day is the Republic's most wanted criminal.  They should never ever come across each other, except for if June catches Day and arrests him.  Well their paths do across in a unexpecting way. When June's brother is murdered and Day badge is at the scene of the crime, Day claims he only hurt her brother and he was alive when he left him.   June is put to the test.  Should she trust the people that she has known all her life, or a Day the guy that seems to be what she needs right now?

This book was not what I expected.  Usually half way through the book I can pretty much figure out what is going on and in the book was not like that.  And I loved it!  I seriously can not wait for the second book to come out!  I need to know what happens with June and Day.  I need to know!  ugh.....well I guess I will have to because this past week I went to the Breathless Tour in Naperville, Illinois and Marie was there signing her book.  And she isn't giving any details about book 2....>.<

My Rating:

I am giving this book a 5 out 5 stars!  I would totally recommend this book to anyone that wants to escape reality and read a book that is beyond breathtaking!

Cover Reveal: Gravity By: Melissa West

First I want to tell you a little about the book...

In the future, only one rule will matter:

Don't. Ever. Peek.

Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last
person she expected hovering above her bed - arrogant Jackson Locke, the
most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind
of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help
him, or everyone on Earth will die.

Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her
question what she's been taught about his kind. And against her instincts,
she's falling for him. But Ari isn't just any girl, and Jackson wants more
than her attention. She¹s a military legacy who¹s been trained by her
father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can
know - especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Giving Jackson the
information he needs will betray her father and her country, but keeping
silent will start a war.

I mean....come on!  Doesn't that sound amazing!!!

This book is due to hit shelves October 2012.  But I am not sure if I can wait that long.... So for right now I am just going to look that the awesome cover!

Wait for it....Wait for it...

Now!

Across the Universe
By: Beth Revis

Release Date: January 1, 2011

Goodreads Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship "Godspeed" and expects to awaken on a new planet in 300 years. Never could she have known that she would be thrust into the world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Have you ever had someone tell you about a book so much that you just have to get it?  Well that is what happen to me with this book. I had people tell me to read it from my book club, blogging, and Goodreads! So many people told me about this book, that it made me put this book on my Christmas list.  Boy am I glad I did.  At first I was having a hard time getting into it.  But I knew that it was going to get better, and it did.

Amy is frozen.  She is frozen because she is embarking on a 300 year trip to another planet so that the human race can start over.  But something bad is happening...she is thawing out and she shouldn't be.  This might kill her but she lucks out.  Here is where she meets the group of people that are living on the ship while it makes its trip towards that new planet.  One of the people she meets is Elder.  Elder is learning to be the leader of the people.  He is going to lead the people until the ship lands so that the people that are frozen know what has happened for the last 300 years.  But something is happening on the ship that no one can be explained.  The people that are frozen are getting unplugged.  This is not good.

This book was a really great! I am so glad that I gave it a chance.  I can not wait to start the next book in the  series, A Million Suns!  Once I get my hands on it, I know that I am not going to have a life for a couple days. :)

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars!

Review: Shatter Me

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)

Shatter Me
By: Tahereh Mafi
Publisher: Harper
Release Date: November 15, 2011
Source: Bought book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

My Thoughts:

One word... Breathtaking!!!!  I think that is the best way to describe this book.  I had heard many great things about this book, many people told me time and time again to read this book and I don't know why I did not listen to them.  My TBR pile just kept getting bigger and bigger.  Well while I was at NCTE with the awesome Epic Lynn Marie she asked me if I had read this book yet.  I looked to the ground and told her no not yet.  She then told me she wouldn't talk to me until I read it....LOL....  Well after the weeks I have had it has been crazy and I needed something to get my mind off of reality.  So I picked up this book.  Boy am I glad I did!

Juliette has a problem, she can kill people by just touching you.  She doesn't want it to happen.  It just does. When she first finds out that she can do this, she was trying to help a little boy from falling down.  How terrible does that have to be.  To know that because you touched this poor little boy you killed him.  I know that I wouldn't be able to handle it.  Well in short terms she can't handle it either.  She basically doesn't want to live because of the monster that she has become, or the monster that she thinks she is.  This book has so many ups and downs to it.  Mainly ups:)  You really feel for the characters and you feel for what they are going through.  You want them to have a happy ending but you know that it may not happen.

She is put to the test against someone that she grew up with.  Adam.  Adam is put with her to she if she is going to kill him for the hell of it.  But during this time you find out that she really doesn't want to hurt anyone, she just wants to be left alone so she can't hurt people.  But Adam is not what he seems to be either.

This book was effing amazing!!  It was everything I would want out of a book and more.  I am a sucker for these types of books.  To me this is hands down the best book I have ever read!  Tahereh Mafi....where do I even begin?!?!  You have out did yourself.  This book should be given to every high school student as a required reading because it is that amazing.  I want to personally thank you for writing an heartfelt book.  You are a genius!

My Rating:

If I could give this book 10 out of 5 stars I would....But because I only rate to 5 stars I am giving this book 5 out 5 stars!  I seriously can not wait until the next book!

Well things are changing....

Well, it has been a crazy couple months and it is just bound to get worse.  LOL in December my husband's store closed its doors.  We thought that was it.  He was going to start looking for a new job.  Well his company came back to him and asked him if he was willing to relocate and he said yes.  So for the past month we have been trying to get a house.  Well as of 5 pm today, we accepted an offer on a house!  So we are MOVING!  Oh it is not like it is going to be in a couple days or weeks.  We are moving in March!  So for the next couple weeks it is going to be crazy. Moving while working full time...ugh...oh and we are moving an hour away from where we currently live....o.O

So I am here to tell you that until I move and get settled in things are going to changes on the blog.  I am going to try to get as many reviews as I can out. But I am not promising anything.  Right now me moving is taking up a lot of time.  I am still accepting reviews from authors and publishing companies, but some will be pushed back because of my move.  I will also be participating in a couple memes during the week.  And that is about it.  I will not be able to participate in any blog hops or anything in that nature.  I am so sorry but it is going to be really crazy time for me and my family until we get into the house and do what we have to do.

Thank you for your support!  And I can not wait to get things back where they need to be!

Goodreads Synopsis:

Ben has always had it pretty easy--with no acting experience, he landed the lead in his high school musical, and he's dating the prettiest girl in school. Haunted by memories of 9/11, he makes the decision to enlist in the army--with devastating consequences. Somehow nobody ever thought Ben would be one of the soldiers affected, but after his convoy gets caught in an explosion, Ben is in a coma for two months. When he wakes up, he doesn't know where he is, and he doesn't remember anything about his old life. His family and friends mourn what they see as a loss, but Ben perseveres. Although he will never be the person he once was, this is the story of his struggle and transformation.

My Thoughts:

This book was really close to home for me because I have many very close friends that are in the armed forces.  So when I got this book in the mail I was very hesitant on reading it.  I knew that this was going to be very hard for me to read, but I am really glad that I did.

Ben wants to be different.   He wants to do something that everyone he knows is not doing.  He signed up for the army.  To normal people this might be something that everyone does, but to this family this really doesn't happen.  His family is not happy with his decision but they are going to support him.  He goes through boot camp fine and he is ready to make the trip home but then they are told that he is going to Iraq.  The one place his family feared that he would go.  But he is ready for it.  He wants to go.

While there the worst thing imaginable happens.  Ben gets hurt....really hurt.  But there is one thing that his family never thought would happen, Ben doesn't remember how he is or who is family is.  This is the one thing that I fear the most with my friends that are over seas fighting for my freedom.  I hope that I never have to go through that.

I personally thought this book was good.  It was a great really easy read.  I am really glad that I was given the opportunity to read this book.  It helped me with my personal experiences with my friends.  And I can say that that has never happened with a book.

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars.

Unearthly (Unearthly, #1)

Unearthly
By: Cynthia Hand
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: January 4, 2011
Pages: 435
Source:  Bought book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

My Thoughts:

Have you ever read a book so much that you don't know how to put it into words?  This is how I feel about this book.  It had everything that I wanted it to have and more.  You meet Clara.  And Clara is on a mission from God....literally because she is angel.  And with being that she has a purpose in life that she has to do.  She traveled from California to the wild wild west just to complete her purpose.  She doesn't know much about her purpose in life, just the little visions that she is having.  During this time she has a lot of ups and downs.  I mean come on lets face it, she is a teenager in high school.  There is going to be drama.

The book ended a way that I thought would never happen.  I totally was not expecting that.  Don't get me wrong I loved the way the book ended but now I can not wait to start the second book.  :)  Cynthia is a genius when it comes to writing.  She defiantly wrote a awesome page turner and I love that!  Thank you Cynthia for one amazing book!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars!

Review: Mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)

Mockingjay
By: Suzanne Collins
Publisher:  Scholastic Press
Release Date: August 24, 2010
Source: Book was given as a gift :)

Goodreads Synopsis:

Young Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12. The thrill-packed final installment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy will keep young hearts pounding. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Where do I even begin to tell you how much I love these books. At first I didn't know if I would like them because I judged this book by its cover.  Then I would tell people that I have never read the books and boy was there hell to pay!  They would tell me that they are the best books ever and that I NEED TO READ THEM!!!  So I asked for them for Christmas.  And I was gifted them!!!!! :)

This past week has been really hard for me because I am currently living away from my Husband....:(  In about a month we will be back together because we are trying to buy a house.  So give it time and I will be back to my normal self.  :)  And I think this book really helped...

The book starts off exactly where the second book, Catching Fire, left off.  Katniss is hiding in District 13.  She is there with her family and Gale and his family.   They are in an all out war with the Capitol and President Snow.  See President Snow wants her head on a silver platter.  And Katniss wants Peeta back.  See the Capitol has Peeta as a hostage in this war.  Katniss will do anything to get Peeta back.  But a lot has changed since the last time that they have seen each other.  And that could be a good thing or a bad thing.

I could not believe how the book ended.  That was defiantly not how I thought it was going to end.  I finished reading the last 3 chapters today at work during nap time and I cried like a little baby.  At first I was really pissed off the way that ended.  I just could not believe that Suzanne thought that was a good way to end it.  Then on my drive home many hours later I was thinking to myself....."that is the best way she could have ended it."  It completely ties everything together.  I think Suzanne Collins is brilliant.  She did such an amazing job with this trilogy.  I am so happy that people hounded me for a very long time to read it because I know I would have never picked it up on my own.

My Rating:

I am giving this book 5 out 5 stars!
