teach me

Teach Me
By:
R. A. Nelson

So about 2 weeks ago the great Lynn Marie and I went on or great Borders run.  I was just looking not really looking to buy but then I saw this on the clearance rack!!! And the clearance rack was buy one get one free!! So I had never heard of this book nor anything about this author.  So I was really worried about reading it.  I should have not been worried.

So you meet Carolina.  She is a high school senior and she doesn't have a lot of friends.  She only has one, a guy named Schuyler.  Which by the way, I love that name and the spelling of that name!!!  Carolina is very smart and just basically there just to make it through to get to college.  When you then meet Mr. Mann.  Mr. Mann is their new English teacher.  Carolina starts to have a thing for him.  She thinks that it is just a puppy love kind of crush and that nothing will happen...boy is she wrong.  Not only is she kind of in love with him, he is in love with her!  He makes a move to her and they start up a relationship that they keep hush hush for awhile.  They talk about everything together.  They discuss her going to college and then during her sophomore year they getting married, their lives together and having a family.

Then one day he just basically breaks up with her and doesn't let her know why.  My immediate reaction was he has finally realized this is wrong.  So after a couple days of her being depressed about the break up, a wedding announcement comes out.  Its Mr. Mann's.  So she decides that she is going to be Mr. Mann's living hell.  She breaks into his apartment, she crashes his wedding, still his luggage, and confronts his new father-in-law about their relationship.  But no one seems to care.

I would say that you should give this book a chance.  It was a rather good book.  I have never read anything  like this before.  I really didn't know what to think about this book.  I was every worried because come on....she has a relationship with her teacher!  But I am really happy I gave it a chance.  And I think you should too...

Vampire Academy

Vampire Academy
By:
Richelle Mead

So where should I started off....This was more than amazing. At first you meet Lissa Dragomir.  She is a mortal vampire that has a very rare gift.  She really doesn't know how to actually use the gift the right way or what exactly the gift is but she is getting the hang of it.  She has this friend that is actually her protector.  Rose is there to make sure nothing happens to Lissa.  She is Lissa's best friend.

When you first meet them they are getting taken back to Montana.  They ran away because they thought they had to.  They thought that they had to leave for the sake of Lissa.  Lissa's gift is very rare and they some people that have had the power are now dead.  After they return to the school they are separated and kept away so that they don't have a chance to leave again.  They meet a lot of people and really start living life.  Things start to happen, Lissa meets a boy who she really likes.  Rose is told that she has to take fighting lessons from another protector.  One thing leads to another and she starts to fall for this guy...but guess what? HE FALLS FOR HER TOO!!!!

This book had everything that I really love in a book.  It had love and temptations.  Not only the temptation to break that rules of the school but also the temptations for finding love when you know that you are supposed to have your mind else where.

I really can't wait to start the other books.  I really fell in love with all the characters and their stories that they told.  I would recommend at least this book. I can't recommend the whole series because I haven't read the whole series.  But believe I will soon finish the series and I will let you know what I think.

Evernight

Evernight
By: Claudia Gray

Where to even begin about this book.  Lets see lets begin about how I bought it...lol.   Well this was on of my awesome Borders buys.  (Thank you Borders) I was at Borders with a fellow Blogger Lynn and I picked up this book in the fiction section and read the back.  I looked at her and send wow this sounds good.  She looks at me and tells me that night before she was at a book signing and this author was there and she got the latest book Afterlife.  Then she proceeds to tell me that if I don't buy she is.....so I bought. :) I had to see what all the fuss was about.  Well and I am glad I did.  The book was really good. It has everything a book needs.  It has romance, suspense, mystery, and some comedy.  Which in my book is good.

The book starts off and you meet Bianca.  She is everything you want in a main character and more.  Bianca's parents are teachers and they just received new jobs working at a boarding school and they take Bianca with them.  But she doesn't want to be there so she decides that is going to scare her parents and run away.   While is running in the woods outside of school she run right into a very handsome and brooding boy named Lucas.  She thinks that he is trying to attack her and all he was trying to do is protect her.

After many times of getting to know each other the finally start dating and her parents seem okay with it but they know something is up.  Sometimes we should just listen to our parents huh....well it is the formal dance and Bianca did not go with Lucas but they met up and they were outside under the star and Bianca leans is for....a bite.  She bites Lucas and she doesn't know why!!! Her parents come in for the rescue and explain to her that they are vampires and she is a born vampire.  And that she will become a vampire when the time is right and she kills someone. o.O But she loves Lucas and she doesn't want to kill him she wants to be with him forever.  After explaining to Lucas what she is and that basically the whole school is infested with vampires he forgives her and takes her back.  He tells her that if she wants she could feed off of him, so she does.  After many feedings there is a chance that the person you are feeding off of could turn into a vampire.  Lucas starts having the same symptoms that Bianca is having.  So she explains to her parents this and her parents go off.  They explain to her that she just broke the one rule that the vampire have, not to tell humans that vampires exist. Not only did she do that, she also possibly turned someone.

So one night all the vampires are sitting around in the lounge and they are discussing what can kill a vampire and Lucas seemed very interested.  Then Bianca spills the beans about one of Lucas's relatives that was enrolled at Evernight a long time go....and that is when the older vampires realize that Lucas is part of a group of vampire hunters that are there to kill Bianca's family and friends.

After confessing his love to Bianca she decides to run away with Lucas to Boston and that they will figure everything out later because they just want to be together.  But while they are in Boston her family shows up and takes her away.  But she knows that this will not be the last time that she is sees the love of her life Lucas.

This book had some really good parts and some really not so good parts.  There are now 4 books of the series and I really don't know if I would ever read them.  It is a really good story line but I really think it needed more.

I am currently about half way through the first Vampire Academy book by Richelle Mead. And I am really excited to write that review :)

Thanks

book clubs and warcraft

Well everyone I know it has been a long time since I have blogged but that is because I have a lot on my mind.  I don't even know where to begin. It is very hard for me to sit here and put everything out there.  I usually just keep everything in but I can't anymore.  I just don't know anymore.. Any way where to begin....

A couple of weeks ago my local Borders closed its doors.  It was a very sad occasion but I got some really good deals out of it so it was worth it. I made about 5 trips with my friend Lynn.  Which were AMAZING!!!!  I spent about $42 dollars and got 15 books.  :) But because of this I think I got a little overwhelmed.  I have so much to read that I feel like I am so far behind and I don't like it.  LOL I know I am dork but whatever. So as I sit on my couch trying to read a book that I bought that I really can not get into I decide to look and explore Goodreads.  I don't know what came over me but I decided it was time to join a Book club.  And I found one! I love it. They are reading books that I am reading and books I love.  Well to make a long story short I have a lot to read just so I can catch up with them before they start next months books.  Well the more I thought about it more I decided that I don't have enough time for everything.  So I decided that I am done playing world of warcraft.  I haven't played in awhile anyway so it really won't matter...its just extra money to buy books. :)

So I am completely dedicating my time to reading.  I feel so much better when I read other than sitting in front of a computer for 6 hours trying to complete a series of quests so that I can level...

I know some people might think that I am a dork.  But that is okay.  I am okay with being a dork.

Well my friends I am out I need to finish about 50 pages before bed.

Rachel Caine, I love you

So I have recently finish 2 books over the weekend...I guess when you have WAY to many bills and they are all due around the same time you have to stay in and read.  Which is not bad because I really loved staying in and just enjoying the company of my wonderful husband :).  But anyway I finished reading volume 2 of The Morganville Vampire Series.

In this book it contains both book 3 and 4 of the series.  The books are Midnight Alley and Feast of Fools.

Midnight Alley starts where book 2 left off you find out the Clarie has agreed to be Amelie's slave and do whatever she is told to do in exchange for protection for her and her roommates.  Clarie's first task...go into a dark alley and meet a crazy vampire that is not all there and have him teach her about magic.  She doesn't know what to except, but she knows that she can not tell Michael, Shane, or Eve about this because they would think she is crazy.

Well to make a long story short she develops a friendship with Myrnin  and he lets her become his only friend.   She wants to help him and make him better and she is doing everything that she possibly can.  Then after you think everything is okay he parents show up and tell her that THEY ARE MOVING TO MORGANVILLE! She doesn't even know what to tell them other then not to move there.  She tries to explain to them without telling them about the vampires.  Not only did they come there to tell her this they also bring a man there.  This mans name is Mr. Bishop.  You find out the Mr. Bishop is Amelie's father and he wants his daughter....now!

In the second book you find out that Mr. Bishop will stop at nothing to put his daughter in her place and take everything from her.  He makes everyone think that he is just there to enjoy his time with his daughter but you soon find out that he has other plans with Morganville, TX and that is to change everything about it.  He decides to throw and ball.  At the ball every vampire will come and proclaim their loyalty to Mr. Bishop and they also had to bring a donation.  Lets just say that there were a lot of fights the broke out because Michael did not want to take Eve because he wanted to save her life.  Because the vampires would not become loyal to Bishop he decides to declare war on Morganville and Amelie.  And Clarie now has to help save a town that she really doesn't like.

I also read book 5 of the series this weekend which is Lord of Misrule.

During this story you are very involved with Clarie and her fight to save all of her friends and family and her town.  Mr. Bishop is out the kill Amelie and all of the vampires that follow her.  He really doesn't care about anything else.  He wants the little brown book so he can take over what his daughter has built up. During this time Shane and Clarie really develop as a couple.  They start to fall in love and I love that about this story...I am just ready for them to hook up.  I know I know this a teen novel and she is 16 and he is 18 and that is illegal....plus I know there are 5 more books that I have not read and it could happen....but it needs to happen...

Anyway I don't want to give away the whole story but at the end Bishop takes over and Clarie is brainwashed and is rivaled against Amelie.  She basically doesn't know what she is doing but Eve is sent off to get Amelie.

I really have know idea what to think about this story.  I love this books and they are so good.  But I need a break from the series....it has nothing to do with the author or the books or whatever people might think it is about.  It is about the fact that I bought a book about 2 months ago that I have been meaning to read so I am going to read it now...lol

Anyway have a great night

:)
