GLEE SONG OF THE WEEK {16}

GLEE IS BACK!!!  And last weeks episode was pure amazingness....I could not believe that Blaine is now in glee....but this means no warblers and that actually makes me very sad....I liked that warblers.  Any who I can not wait until tonight's episode!!!!  It is going to be EPIC!!!

As promised this weeks GLEE SONG OF THE WEEK is from last weeks episode...they had some really amazing songs!!  That is the best way to open the season!!! But the funny thing is that they sang one of my all time favorite Broadway songs....

Gleeks....

You Can't Stop the Beat....

(I think I may go watch Hairspray...hmmm)

You can't stop an avalanche
As it races down the hill
You can try to stop the seasons,
But you know you never will
And you can try to stop my dancin' feet
But I just cannot stand still

Cause the world keeps spinnin'
Round and round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost till I heard the drums
Then I found my way
Cause you can't stop the beat

5, 6, 7, 8

Ever since this old world began
A woman found out if she shook it
She could shake up a man
And so I'm gonna shake and shimmy it
The best that I can today
Cause you can't stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the sun in the sky
You can wonder if you wanna
But I never ask why
If you try to hold me down
I'm gonna spit in your eye and say
That you can't stop the beat!

You can't stop a river
As it rushes to the sea
You can try to stop the hands of time
But you know it just can't be
And if they try to stop us Artie,
I'll call the N Double A C P

Cause the world keeps spinning
Round and round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost til I heard the drums
Then I found my way
Cause you can't stop the beat

Ever since we first saw the light
A man and woman liked to shake it
On a Saturday night
So I'm gonna shake and shimmy it
With all my might today
'Cause you can't stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the rain from above
You can try to stop the paradise
We're dreamin' of
But you cannot stop the rhythm
Of two hearts in love to stay
Cause you can't stop the beat!

You can't stop today
As it comes speeding down the track
Child, yesterday is history
And it's never coming back
Cause tomorrow is a brand new day
And it don't know white from black

Yeah!

Cause the world keeps spinning
Round and round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost til I heard the drums
Then I found my way
'Cause you can't stop the beat

Ever since we first saw the light
A man and woman liked to shake it
On a Saturday night
And so I'm gonna shake and shimmy it
With all my might today
Cause you can't stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the rain from above
They can try to stop the paradise
We're dreaming of
But you cannot stop the rhythm
Of two hearts in love to stay
You can't stop the beat!

You can't stop the beat!
You can't stop the beat!
You can't stop the beat!
You can't stop the beat!

okay one last one....

LMFAO

Party rock is in the house tonight
Everybody just have a good time
And we gonna make you lose your mind
Everybody just have a good time

Party rock is in the house tonight
Everybody just have a good time
And we gonna make you lose your mind
We just wanna see ya shake that

In the club party rock, lookin' for your girl? She on my jock
Nonstop when we in the spot, booty movin' weight like she on the block
Where the drank? I gots to know, tight jeans, tattoo 'cause I'm rock 'n' roll
Half black, half white, domino, game the money, op-a-doe

Yo, I'm runnin' through these ho's like Drano
I got that devilish flow, rock 'n' roll, no halo
We party rock, yeah, that's the crew that I'm reppin'
On the rise to the top, no lead in our zeppelin, hey

Party rock is in the house tonight
Everybody just have a good time
And we gonna make you lose your mind
Everybody just have a good time

Party rock is in the house tonight
Everybody just have a good time
And we gonna make you lose your mind
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/l/lmfao-lyrics/party-rock-anthem-lyrics.html ]
We just wanna see ya shake that

Everyday I'm shufflin'
Shufflin', shufflin'

Step up fast and be the first girl to make me throw this cash
We gettin' money, don't be mad now, stop, hatin' is bad

One more shot for us, another round
Please fill up my cup, don't mess around
We just wanna see you shake it now
Now you wanna be, you're naked now

Get up, get down, put your hands up to the sound
Get up, get down, put your hands up to the sound
Get up, get down, put your hands up to the sound
Put your hands up to the sound, put your hands up to the sound

Get up, get up, get up, get up
Get up, get up, get up, get up
Get up, put your hands up to the sound, to the sound
Put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up, put your hands up

Party rock is in the house tonight
(Put your hands up)
Everybody just have a good time
(Put your hands up)
And we gonna make you lose your mind
(Put your hands up)
Everybody just have a good, good, good time

Put your hands up
Put your hands up
Put your hands up
Shake that, everyday I'm shufflin'

Glee Song of the Week {15}

Hello fellow GLEEKS!!! Today is the best day ever...why you ask...

Well if you have to ask you are not a true gleek...

Today is GLEE DAY!

Today is the premier of Glee on Fox at 9 pm....watch you won't be disappointed.

Any way I was so happy that my glee song of the week fell on the day that the show is on because once the show comes back on I will then do my favorite song from the previous episode. :)

Well this week I want to do a song that I haven't heard in a long time...

Gleeks...

Empire State of Mind

Yeah, yeah, I'm up at Brooklyn, now I'm down in TriBeCa
Right next to De Niro but I'll be hood forever
I'm the new Sinatra and since I made it here
I can make it anywhere, yeah, they love me everywhere

I used to cop in Harlem, all of my Dominicanos
Right there up on Broadway, pull me back to that McDonald's
Took it to my stash box, 560 State Street
Catch me in the Kitchen like a Simmons with them pastries

Cruising down 8th Street, off white Lexus
Driving so slow but BK is from Texas
Me, I'm out that Bed-Stuy, home of that boy Biggie
Now I live on Billboard and I brought my boys with me

Say what up to Ty Ty, still sipping mai tai's
Sitting courtside, Knicks and Nets give me high five
Jigga, I be spiked out, I could trip a referee
Tell by my attitude that I'm most definitely from

New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made, oh
There's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York

Catch me at the X with OG at a Yankee game
Dude, I made the Yankee hat more famous then a Yankee can
You should know I bleed blue but I ain't a Crip though
But I got a gang of brothers walking with my clique though

Welcome to the melting pot, corners where we selling rock
Afrika Bambaataa, home of the hip hop
Yellow Cab, Gypsy Cab, Dollar Cab, holla back
For foreigners, it ain't, for they act like they forgot how to act

8 million stories, out there in the naked
City is a pity, half of y'all won't make it
Me, I gotta plug Special Ed, "I Got it Made"
If Jesus paying LeBron, I'm paying Dwayne Wade

Three dice, Cee-lo, three card Monte
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/g/glee-cast-lyrics/empire-state-of-mind-lyrics.html ]
Labor Day Parade, rest in peace Bob Marley
Statue of Liberty, long live the World Trade
Long live the kingdom I'm from the Empire State that's

New York, hey, concrete jungle where dreams are made, oh
There's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York

Lights is blinding, girls need blinders
So they can step out of bounds quick, the sidelines is
Lined with casualties who slip through life casually
Then gradually become worse, don't bite the apple, Eve

Caught up in the in-crowd, now you're in style
And in the winter gets cold, En Vogue, wit'cha skin out
City of sin, it's a pity on the whim
Good girls gone bad, the city's filled with them

Mami took a bus trip, now she got her bust out
Everybody ride her just like a bus route
Hail Mary to the city, you're a virgin
And Jesus can't save you, life starts when the church end

Came here for school, graduated to the high life
Ball players, rap stars, addicted to the limelight
MDMA got you feeling like a champion
The city never sleeps, better slip you an Ambien

New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made, oh
There's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York

One hand in the air for the big city
Street lights, big dreams, all looking pretty
No place in the world that could compare
Put your lighters in the air, everybody say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made, oh
There's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York

:)

HAPPY GLEE DAY!

Did I drive you away?
I know what you'll say.
You'll say, "Oh, sing one we know"
But I promise you this,
I'll always look out for you.
That's what I'll do.

Singing...
Singing...

My heart is yours.
It's you that I hold on to.
That's what I'll do.
But I know I was wrong,
And I won't let you down.
(Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah I will, yes I will…)

Singing...
Crying...

(vocalizing)

Yeah I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
And I saw sparks,
Yeah I saw sparks,
Singing out.

La, la, la, la, oh…
La, la, la, la, oh…
La, la, la, la, oh…

Need you now

Glee – Need You Now Lyrics

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor
Reachin’ for the phone ’cause I can’t fight it anymore
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time

It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don’t know how I can do without
I just need you now

Another shot of whiskey can’t stop looking at the door
Wishing you’d come sweeping in the way you did before
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time

http://www.hotnewsonglyrics.com/glee-need-you-now-lyrics.html

It’s a quarter after one, I’m a little drunk and I need you now
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don’t know how I can do without
I just need you now

woah woaaah.
Guess I’d rather hurt than feel nothin’ at all

It’s a quarter after one I’m all alone and I need you now
And I said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don’t know how I can do without
I just need you now

I just need you now
Ooo, baby, I need you now

Tune in Tuesday (13)

Hello friends.  It is time again for another Tune in Tuesday!
Tune in Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Ginger at GReads and it allows you to showcase the music you are loving at this moment!

This past weekend I had the most amazing time.  My brother in law got married and it was seriously probably the best time I have had in a long time.

Congrats Jamie and Yancy!!!

Anyway I heard some really great music and it got my thinking....I need to think outside the box...I need to think what song describes me...

Ladies and Gents....

Taylor!!!

"Sparks Fly"

The way you move is like a full on rainstorm
And I'm a house of cards
You're the kind of reckless
That should send me runnin'
But I kinda know that I won't get far
And you stood there in front of me
Just close enough to touch
Close enough to hope you couldn't see
What I was thinking of

Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile

My mind forgets to remind me
You're a bad idea
You touch me once and it's really something,
You find I'm even better than you imagined I would be.
I'm on my guard for the rest of the world
But with you I know it's no good
And I could wait patiently but I really wish you would...

Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile

I run my fingers through your hair and watch the lights go wild.
Just keep on keeping your eyes on me, it's just wrong enough to make it feel right.
Lead me up the staircase
Won't you whisper soft and slow?
I'm captivated by you, baby, like a firework show.

Drop everything now,
Meet me in the pouring rain,
Kiss me on the sidewalk,
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile.
Get me with those green eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile

The sparks fly...
Oh, baby, smile...
The sparks fly...

The Year of Secret Assignments

The Year of Secret Assignments
By: Jaclyn Moriarty
Publisher: Scholastic
Pages: 340
Source: Bought the book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

The Ashbury-Brookfield pen pal program is designed to bring together the two rival schools in a spirit of harmony and "the Joy of the Envelope."  But when Cassie, Lydia, and Emily send their letters to  Matthew, Charlie, and Sebastian, things don't go quite as planned.  What starts out as a simple letter exchange soon leads to secret missions, false alarms, lock picking, mistaken identities, and an all-out war between the schools- not to mention some really excellent kissing! -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

The Year of Secret Assignments is exactly what it sound like.  There are three girls that are best friends.  They do everything together.  They all have the same English class and they are all given the same assignment, write to a pen pal at the neighboring school.  They really do not want to do it but they do and they actually gain a relationship with their pen pals.

The book is written mainly of notes, email, diary entries, and writing workshop for the pen pals.  I think that is really amazing that the whole book is written like this.  It just doesn't happen that often.  And when it does it is usually not to this extent.  When a book is written think this I usually really love everything about it. They just really flow together and keep the story interesting.

The book really shows you how you that if you have really great friends that they will be there with you.  That true friends will really truly help you has much as they can.  I am not going to lie.  This book was kind of a downer for me.  I was expecting so much from the book and it really just did not deliver.  Don't get me wrong....the book is fun, light, and such a easy read.  But I was just expecting so much more.

My Rating:

I actually gave this book 2 out 5 stars.  I liked the book but it just was not a book that I could not put down. If you want a really easy read and a fun read...this book is for you!

Irk armywives....irk

Well my followers I have been a bad blogger this weekend.  See Netflix decided to do the worst thing imaginable....they put 4 seasons of Army wives on the watch instantly!!!!

I work at a day care and I have had many parents ask me if I have watched Army wives...I have always told them no and they would respond with "Oh my God you have to watch it!"  So when Netflix added it I decided that I would watch one episode of the show to give it a chance....that was last week.

I totally got sucked into to it.  I have watched 3 full seasons in about 4 days total.  This show is amazing!  It is about 4 girls from 4 different backgrounds that all live on a army base.

(from left to right)

There is Denise, who is the major's wife and is a RN.  She has had many issues that have come in the past 3 seasons but she is always calm and collective and always knows what to say to keep everyone together.

Then there is Roxy. Roxy is the bases firecracker.  She is always on her toes and doesn't let any one walk all over her.  She knew her husband a whole 17 days before he asked her to marry him. o.O

Then there is Pam.  I see a lot of me in Pam.  She second guesses a lot but also doesn't put up with a lot from people.

The Claudia Joy....I know it's a really weird name, but whatever any who...She is the General's wife and she is in charge of all the wives on base.  She makes sure that they are comfortable and taken care of.

And there is Roland.  Roland is a army husband.  His wife is the highest ranked African American woman on base.  I love Roland.  You always think about the wives of the soldiers, but what about the husbands.  You just don't think about that situation.

If I were you I would give this show a chance....But believe me you will need a box of tissues and a glass of wine.  I have never cried so much over one show in my life.

Enjoy :)

Waiting on Wednesday (7)

This Wednesday I want to talk about a book that is part of a series that at first I did not like.  It was after the second book that I really started to love the characters and the story itself.  I had always heard really great things about the story and I agree....I can not wait for the third book to come out!!!

The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever. -Goodreads-

Expected publication: October 4th 2011

GLEE SONG OF THE WEEK!! (13)

HI!!!!! It is time for another glee song of the week.....

Gleeks....guess what....14 days until GLEE SEASON 3!!!!!! Oh my I can not wait.....I am seriously thinking about taking the day off work to watch all of season 1 and 2....hmmmmm

Well this week I was thinking about all of the songs that I have done in the past and all the songs that I can choose from.  It is starting to get really hard to choose a one great song.  Then the sky opened up and showed me the song that I am going to use this week...well my sister helped me choose...

Gleeks...

Turning Tables

Close enough to start a war
All that I have is on the floor
God only knows what we're fighting for
All that I say, you always say more

I can't keep up with your turning tables
Under your thumb, I can't breathe

So, I won't let you close enough to hurt me
No, I won't rescue you, you to just desert me
I cant give you, what you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
To turning tables

Under haunted skies I see ooh
Where love is lost, your ghost is found
I braved a hundred storms to leave you
As hard as you try, no I will never be knocked down

I can't keep up with your turning tables
Under your thumb, I can't breathe

So, I won't let you close enough to hurt me, no
I won't rescue you, you to just desert me
I cant give you, what you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
Turning tables

Next time I'll be braver
I'll be my own savior
When the thunder calls for me
Next time I'll be braver
I'll be my own savior
Standing on my own two feet

I won't let you close enough to hurt me, no
I won't rescue you, you to just desert me
I cant give you, what you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
To turning tables
Turning tables, yeah
Turning, oh

Tune in Tuesday (12)

Hello My Friends!!! I am glad you stopped by for another edition of TUNE IN TUESDAY!

This Tuesday I am allowing my husband to pick the music....scary I know...
But he actually picked a really amazing song....

Ladies and Gents

Taking back Sunday!

You might lose your faith in science.
You might lose faith in wealth.
You might lose your faith in Jesus,
or lose faith in yourself.

But, when I let you down,
look past your doubt.
Just, please, please,
don't lose your faith in me.

You could lose faith in music,
or lose faith in your friends.
You could lose your faith in breathing,
feel trapped in your own skin.

Oh, but I'll be right there beside you,
when the walls are caving in.
Oh, I'm not going anywhere.
But, when I let you down,
look past your doubt.
Just please, please,
don't lose your faith in me.
Please don't lose your faith in me.

Oh,Oh,oh....
I'm not going anywhere. [3x]

But, when I let you down,
look past your doubt.
Just please, please,
don't lose your faith in me.
Please don't lose your faith in me.

I'm not going anywhere.

The demon trapper's daughter

The demon trapper's daughter
By: Jana Oliver
Publisher:  St. Martin's Griffin
Pages: 340
Source: Given the book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

Demon Trapper Riley Blackthorne just needs a chance to prove herself—and that’s exactly what Lucifer is counting on…

It’s the year 2018, and with human society seriously disrupted by the economic upheavals of the previous decade, Lucifer has increased the number of demons in all major cities. Atlanta is no exception. Fortunately, humans are protected by Demon Trappers, who work to keep homes and streets safe from the things that go bump in the night. Seventeen-year-old Riley, only daughter of legendary Demon Trapper Paul Blackthorne, has always dreamed of following in her father’s footsteps. When she’s not keeping up with her homework or trying to manage her growing attraction to fellow Trapper apprentice, Simon, Riley’s out saving citizens from Grade One Hellspawn. Business as usual, really, for a demon-trapping teen. When a Grade Five Geo-Fiend crashes Riley’s routine assignment at a library, jeopardizing her life and her chosen livelihood, she realizes that she’s caught in the middle of a battle between Heaven and Hell. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Riley is a young girl with the world on her shoulders.  She is trying to make everyone proud of her in this she is making trouble.  See Riley is a trying to follow in her father's foot steps....she is trying to become a demon trapper.  In this book the would has gone to hell....literally....Lucifer is on Earth and he is releasing demons to go bump in the night.  But see there is a snag in Riley's plan, something has happened to Riley that she will never forget.....her father dies.

Now Riley is more determined to make her dad proud and become a demon trapper.  But something is standing her way....her feelings for someone.  Well that someone was her father's partner and is now her trainer.

This book was kind of amazing.  This book has everything that you need to fall into a world that just wraps you in and does not let you out.  It was a perfect mixture of excitement, love, and tragedy.  I think that Jana Oliver really out did herself and made a world that is both scary and thrilling.  So thank you Jana, you did a great job!!!

My Rating:

I gave this book 3 out 5 stars.  I liked that book.  It had everything that a book needs.  I totally recommend this book to anyone that want to read about a back talking, smart ass, demon trapper!

We'll Always Have Summer

We'll Always Have Summer
By: Jenny Han
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Pages: 288
Source: Borrowed from a friend...:)

Goodreads Synopsis:

It's been two years since Conrad told Belly to go with Jeremiah. She and Jeremiah have been inseparable ever since, even attending the same college-- only, their relationship hasn't exactly been the happily ever after Belly had hoped it would be. And when Jeremiah makes the worst mistake a boy can make, Belly is forced to question what she thought was true love. Does she really have a future with Jeremiah? Has she ever gotten over Conrad? It's time for Belly to decide, once and for all, who has her heart forever. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Oh my this book......I really don't even know where to begin with this book.  But I can tell you this that Ms. Jenny Han really out did herself this time.  This book, in my opinion, was the best book out of the series by far.  I really didn't know where this book was going.

The book begins 2 years after the last book left off.  Belly and Jeremiah are together and they are finishing their semester at college.  Belly is finishing her freshman year and Jeremiah is finish his sophomore year.  They are about to start one of their greatest and most difficult journey's of their lives.....being engaged!!! That is right people Belly is going to tie the knot....or is she.  See once she thinks that this is where her live is and that she is finally going to Mrs. Fisher, someone jumps into the picture.  Conrad.  Now she needs to decide what she wants to do and who she wants to be with.

This is series over all is one great series.  Each one of her books is better then the first.  They were all easy reads and fast reads.  These books make me want a beach house and vacation there every summer....I need to talk to the Hubby.....:)

My Rating:

I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars.  This is one of my all time favorite series.  Everyone should really read these books. And I want to give a shout out to my friend Lynn who hounded me to read these books for months.....I should have listened to her right away....Thanks!
