Unraveling Isobel
By: Eileen Cook
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Release Date: January 3, 2011
Pages: 304
Source: ARC received for reviewing

Goodreads Synopsis:

Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.

But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts. Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

A couple weeks ago I had the honor to go to NCTE in Chicago.  I was so happy that I was able to attend the conference.  Some great authors were speaking there, and they were also having signings at the publisher booths.  While I was there I was able to meet some great people and they will always have a special place in my heart.  During this time I remember going and meeting some people at the Simon and Schuster booth.  While I was in their booth, I saw this book and I picked it up and read the back and I was instantly sold.  I wanted to read this book so bad.  I wasn't able to get a copy there, so when I received this book from the publisher to review for the blog I was jumping for joy....literally.

You meet a girl named Isobel.  And I first want to tell you how much I love this name and how they spell it.  I love names that are different.  :)  Well Isobel's life just got turned upside down.  See her mom just recently remarried to this really creepy guy. And this makes her very unhappy. But that is not the only reason she is unhappy.  See her mom not only remarried to this guy, but now she has to move away from everything that she has called home in her life.  She has to make new friends and start all over.  And to make matters worse, her stepbrother is extremely good looking and she can't stop thinking about him.

When she moves she moves into this estate....yes an estate not a house.  While she is there she starts to see things that normally people wouldn't see.  She starts to get messages from the sister of her stepbrother that died a few months back.  She really doesn't know why she is trying to contact her but she is.  She decides that she is going to stop being scared of it and embrace it to try to help.

I will be the first to tell you how much I loved this book.  I am a sucker for the paranormal books and this was defiantly a book I enjoy.  It was amazing. If you are looking for kissing, a good swoon, and a awesome ghost all tied into one, this is defiantly the book for you!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars.  This is an awesome why to start off 2012.  I hope the rest of the 2012 reads are like this one.

love & leftovers

Love and Leftovers

love & leftovers
By: Sarah Tregay
Publisher: Katherine Tegan Books
Release Date: December 27, 2011
Pages: 451
Source: Given for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

When her parents split, Marcie is dragged from Idaho to a family summerhouse in New Hampshire. She leaves behind her friends, a group of freaks and geeks called the Leftovers, including her emo-rocker boyfriend, and her father.

By the time Labor Day rolls around, Marcie suspects this "vacation" has become permanent.  She starts at a new school, where a cute boy brings her breakfast and a new romance heats up.  But understanding love especially when you've watched your parents'  affections end, is elusive.  What does it fell like, really?  Can you even know it until you've lost it? -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

At first I didn't know how I would feel about reading a whole book in verses.  I wasn't sure if I would like it or if it was going to be hard to read.   Well, I loved it.  I love everything about the writing.  It was defiantly something that I had never read before and I am glad that I did.

The book is about a teenage girl who, every summer, travels to New Hampshire with her mom for vacation. But this time is different.  Because this time the vacation becomes a little more permanent.  She leaves her life behind, which includes her best friend, her other friends, and her awesome boyfriend.  But what is going to happen when she starts school in New Hampshire and the most popular boy in school starts to pay attention to her.  She doesn't want to hurt her boyfriend, but at the same time she is very lonely and all she wants is attention.

This book was something else.  I could not put it down.  It was defiantly a page turner.  You really felt for Marcie and everything that she is going through. You really want everything to work in her life.  But in the book when she was doing something wrong, all I could think about "WHAT!!! Don't do that to him!!!"  The book truly kept you right where you needed to be for the whole thing.  I surely hope that you take the time and read this amazing book!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars.  :)

Shug

Shug

Shug
By: Jenny Han
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Pages: 256
Release date: October 2007
Source: Bought book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

Annemarie Wilcox, or Shug as her family calls her, is beginning to think there's nothing worse than being twelve. She's too tall, too freckled, and way too flat-chested. Shug is sure that there's not one good or amazing thing about her. And now she has to start junior high, where the friends she counts most dear aren't acting so dear anymore -- especially Mark... -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

Just when you think that the world should start getting pretty awesome, you have to grow up.  At the age of 12, you should be starting to have the time of your life.  At least that is what Annemarie thought was going to happen.  Boy, was she wrong.  In my experiences of being a 12 year old, things change.  Sometimes they change for the good and sometimes they change for the bad.  You don't really know what the outcome will be until you going through with it.  In Annemarie's life, she is entering junior high and she doesn't know what to expect.   She doesn't know if it is going to be something great or something that is going to change her life forever.

See she has this best befriend that is a guy.  And we all know that when you have a guy friend, sooner or later you are going to fall for them.  Hello....my husband and I.  Well in this story she does fall for him, but she also knows that things are going to change between them.  She doesn't know if it is going to be a good change or a bad change.  But during this time not only is her relationship between Mark and her going to be rocky, but her relationship between her and her favorite gal pal is going to be tested.

I think this book was really cute.  It had everything a coming of age book should have.  You really feel for Annemarie and everything that is happening in her life.  And I know that the things that she is going through are some of the same things that I have gone through in my life as well.  I think every girl that is entering junior high should read this book.  As well as Are you there God? It's me Margret.  Both of these books talk about some of the same issues.

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars.  If you have a teenage girl at home, please go out and buy her this book.  You won't be sorry.

Lynn

The women are nominated through the Hello Gorgeous! website. If you know a women that should be nominated, please feel free to do so.

Lynn

before

Lynn Rifkin was chosen to receive a surprise makeover during the Gorgeous Gals Luncheon in November of 2010. The year before, Kim had surprised everyone at the luncheon with the Gorgeous Endeavor, a 32 foot mobile day spa. So in 2010 she wanted to show everyone at the luncheon exactly what happens during a visit!

Lynn was invited by her sister to join her that afternoon. Not knowing that her other two sisters would be there waiting for her. That wasnt going to be her only surprise!!!

Lynn was nominated by her sisters because she had not once but twice battled cancer and was in remission. With her brave heart, she had asked God, years ago, that if cancer were to ever strike her family, to let her be the one to get it. Her sisters all are married with children and she, while married, has never had children of her own. To date, she is the only sibling that has suffered through cancer.

Part of our job that day, was to wait for our music cue, walk into the Luncheon, find Lynn, surprise her one more time that day, and give her a Gorgeous makeover right there in the bus, while the luncheon was going on right outside the door!! We even had a camera feed that gave everyone in the crowd updates throughout the whole makeover.

Kim began by reading Lynns nomination letter on stage. By the time we got to her, she and her sisters were all in tears, laughing and smiling! Lynn was amazing! She had the biggest smile on her face and was so excited to be receiving this makeover!! We pampered her that day, dressed her, and revealed her to everyone at the end of the luncheon. She was such a good sport! Very energetic and ready to get on that stage and strut her stuff!!
She was truly an inspiration that day. She is a person who knows what it takes to be selfless and gracious. I'm so proud to have met her! Thank you Lynn for being who you are and blessing this world with your presence!!

During this years luncheon Lynn was surprised one more time! She was chosen as the Hello Gorgeous! Ambassador of 2012!!
You go girl!!!

Jerri

The women are nominated through the Hello Gorgeous! website. If you know a women that should be nominated, please feel free to do so.

Jerri

before

It's amazing to me that after 6 years of performing Hello Gorgeous! make-overs that I can still get an "aha". I know that every situation is different and we have seen so many woman on this journey that are so amazing, so inspirational and such fighters and Jerri is no exception. I am not sure where she finds her strength. I am in awe of her.
We surprised Jerri in Indianapolis at an Ovarcoming run/walk in downtown Indianapolis at 7am on a Saturday morning. I had done my homework on Jerri and I was sent a before picture so I had an idea of who I was looking for. Jerri was a beautiful blond with a big smile before cancer.
When the time came to surprise Jerri I was taken a back. It was the first time that I realized what cancer steals from these gallant woman.
It steals their femininity . Everything that we as girls thinks makes us look like girls, Cancer takes away.
It takes their hair, their eyebrows, their eyelashes and it can put dark circle under their eyes, Cancer is MEAN.
But Hello Gorgeous! tries to replace what cancer steals. We empower these women with hair substitution, we show them how to draw on their eyebrows and how to make it look like they have eye lashes. We have heard so many times that Hello Gorgeous! makes these woman feel "Girlee" again. I will never forget the look on Jerri's husband face we he saw her after the makeover. The only word that he could say was "WOW" as he greeted her with open arms.

Laura

The women are nominated through the Hello Gorgeous! website. If you know a women that should be nominated, please feel free to do so.

Laura

before

When we meet Laura she was 24 years old and had just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had 24 hours to decide to have a double mastectomy. The doctors told Laura the her cancer was very aggressive and there was a 90 % chance that the cancer would return in the other breast.
We ambushed Laura at TGIFriday's and gave her a complete make-over; manicure, pedicure, facial and make-up application. Laura had been wearing a wig but when she took it off she had the cutest hair that just needed a little T.L.C.
Laura told us about her 2 small children and that shortly after she was diagnosed with her cancer her husband left her because he couldn't handle it.
As Mike, my husband, walked Laura into her reveal party where her family and friends were waiting to see her new look, He asked her "how do you feel?" Laura said with a big smile on her face"I wish my ex-husband could see me now and see what he is missing!"
Hello Gorgeous! is an amazing gift given to amazing woman!

One week of giving back: Thank you Gorgeous!

Hello followers!  I can't believe that we are to Thanksgiving week already... Where has the time gone?  But with it being Thanksgiving week I, along with my sister, have decided to dedicate this whole week to a local organization that is always giving back.  They are always thinking about the people they help.  So I want to dedicate this week to them!

Logo

The organization is called Hello Gorgeous!  They are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving all women with all types of cancer.  They provide the women with complimentary make overs.  They pull out the red carpet and surprise them with flowers, candy, and the works!

I had the pleasure to sit down and have a conversation with Kim Becker, founder of Hello Gorgeous!  she is probably one the coolest people that I have ever met in my life.  She sat there and talked about all these people that she has helped through the organization. She really keeps a special place in her heart for all of the Gorgeous women that the organization has helped, you could ask her a question about a visit she did 4 years ago in the parking lot of a restaurant and she could tell you the name of the woman, her illness, and where she is at today in her recovery.

I was able to ask Kim some questions.

  • So what exactly is Hello Gorgeous!?
    • Hello Gorgeous! is a non profit organization that provides complementary make overs to all women with all types of cancer.
  • What made  you start Hello Gorgeous!?
    • It was a calling.  It was something that I knew that I had to do.
  • What exactly is a visit?
    • A visit is the surprise.  We meet the Gorgeous women and surprise them with a red carpet, candy, flowers, and the works!  The works could include: facial, massage, manicure, pedicure, any hair needs including color, cut or hair piece, makeup, and they try to give a complete outfit.
  • How long have you been doing this?
    • 6 Years
  • What is your most memorable moment?
    • The beginning.  I can remember coming back from Indianapolis with my husband and I began to talk about this idea I had.  I wanted to give free make overs to all women that were suffering from cancer.  My husband thought I was crazy!  But still he heard me out and even stopped in Kokomo to buy every book the book store offered about non profit organizations.

So during this week we are going to discuss some truly Gorgeous women and after each story look for a special note...:)

When I met Kim she was in the process of affiliating salons in her local area to start providing these makeovers. I was part of that first salon, Sandy's Hair Design. She came in and certified us all on the do's and don'ts of providing our services to these women. She also touched my heart. I remember her saying "What better way to give back and make someone feel so good about themselves again, then to provide them with something we already know how to do?"

I always tease Kim because every time I see her, she cries. She cries for every story she hears, every woman  who feels broken, and for their strength that still shines through.

I want to Thank you Kim, for being selfless, inspiring, and grateful. You have shown me that every dream is a possibility, every venture brings you wisdom, and never forget where you came from and those you meet along the way.

Kim, you have given me the chance to give something back to these women, doing what I love. the transformations I've witnessed, with our visits, are amazing. Not just on the outside of these women, but mainly with-in. Their demeanor professes confidence once again!!

Kim, Thank you so much for everything you do. I am blessed to know you and to be apart of your dream. I will forever be indebted to you for the knowledge you've given me, the wisdom you've taught me, and the love you've shown everyone! You are truly an angel. You say your Gorgeous Gals! are your inspiration and I say you are mine!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Fever (The Chemical Garden, #2)

Running away brings Rhine and Gabriel right into a trap, in the form of a twisted carnival whose ringmistress keeps watch over a menagerie of girls. Just as Rhine uncovers what plans await her, her fortune turns again. With Gabriel at her side, Rhine travels through an environment as grim as the one she left a year ago - surroundings that mirror her own feelings of fear and hopelessness.

The two are determined to get to Manhattan, to relative safety with Rhine’s twin brother, Rowan. But the road there is long and perilous - and in a world where young women only live to age twenty and young men die at twenty-five, time is precious. Worse still, they can’t seem to elude Rhine’s father-in-law, Vaughn, who is determined to bring Rhine back to the mansion...by any means necessary.

In the sequel to Lauren DeStefano’s harrowing Wither, Rhine must decide if freedom is worth the price - now that she has more to lose than ever. -Goodreads-

Fateful

Fateful

Fateful
By: Claudia Gray
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pages: 328
Source: Bought book for review

Goodreads Synopsis:

Eighteen-year-old maid Tess Davies is determined to escape the wealthy, troubled family she serves. It’s 1912, and Tess has been trapped in the employ of the Lisles for years, amid painful memories and twisted secrets. But now the Lisle family is headed to America, with Tess in tow. Once the ship they’re sailing on—the RMS Titanic—reaches its destination, Tess plans to strike out and create a new life for herself.

Her single-minded focus shatters when she meets Alec, a handsome first-class passenger who captivates her instantly. But Alec has secrets of his own. He’s in a hurry to leave Europe, and whispers aboard the ship say it’s because of the tragic end of his last affair with the French actress who died so gruesomely and so mysteriously. . . .

Soon Tess will learn just how dark Alec’s past truly is. The danger they face is no ordinary enemy: werewolves exist and are stalking him—and now her, too. Her growing love for Alec will put Tess in mortal peril, and fate will do the same before their journey on the Titanic is over.

In Fateful, New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray delivers paranormal adventure, dark suspense, and alluring romance set against the opulent backdrop of the Titanic’s first—and last—voyage. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

First and for most I want to tell you how big of a sucker I am for stories set in or about the Titanic.  I love the Titanic just as much as I love chocolate.  I love learning about, I actually at one point in time wanted to go and see the Titanic....okay maybe I still do.  Anyone want to go with me????

Any way when I first heard about the book I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it because I didn't want anything to change about the history of the ship.  I bought the book at a signing I went to in Naperville Illinois for the Dark Days Tour.  I had a great time meeting the authors and what not.  They were all great and I got some great books while I was there.  I have read some other Claudia Gray books, and I have to admit....I wasn't really sold.  I mean her writing is amazing and she is a awesome person to meet face to face.  But I just wasn't in love with her stories.  Then I read Fateful.

Fateful was everything that I could ever ask for in a book.  It was pure amazingness.  You really feel for the characters, especially Tess.  You just want everything to work out for her.  Tess is a servant maid to a very wealthy family that is about to embark on a journey to America.  They are going to travel by ship....a very big ship called the Titanic.  While on the ship she meets a very handsome man that doesn't care that she is a servant or a maid.  He cares about her.  He would do anything for her.  He would even throw her overboard from a sinking ship.  Fateful is amazing....thrilling....and romantic all wrapped up into one great book!  Claudia Gray....you have out done yourself this time.  You have really wrote a piece of art!

If you haven't read Fateful, you really need to do yourself a favor and do so.   You are truly missing out.  This is defiantly a book worth reading!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 5 out of 5 stars....it was that good!!!!

Cryer's Cross

Cryer's Cross

Cryer's Cross
By: Lisa McMann
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Pages: 233
Source: Gift from a friend :)

Goodreads Synopsis:

The community of Cryer’s Cross, Montana (population 212) is distraught when high school freshman Tiffany disappears without a trace. Already off-balance due to her OCD, 16-year-old Kendall is freaked out seeing Tiffany’s empty desk in the one-room school house, but somehow life goes on... until Kendall's boyfriend Nico also disappears, and also without a trace. Now the town is in a panic. Alone in her depression and with her OCD at an all-time high, Kendall notices something that connects Nico and Tiffany: they both sat at the same desk. She knows it's crazy, but Kendall finds herself drawn to the desk, dreaming of Nico and wondering if maybe she, too, will disappear...and whether that would be so bad. Then she begins receiving graffiti messages on the desk from someone who can only be Nico. Can he possibly be alive somewhere? Where is he? And how can Kendall help him? The only person who believes her is Jacian, the new guy she finds irritating...and attractive. As Kendall and Jacian grow closer, Kendall digs deeper into Nico's mysterious disappearance only to stumble upon some ugly—and deadly—local history. Kendall is about to find out just how far the townspeople will go to keep their secrets buried. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

I had to put this book down multiple times because it was beyond creepy.  This book was everything that I would ever want in a scary book.  You meet Kendall.  Kendall is a girl that lives in a very small town.  I mean I think the population is less then 200.  And in this small town a couple kids come up missing in a couple months time.  This is something that just doesn't happen in this small town.  But Kendall is right smack in the middle of it.  See her boyfriend is one of the kids that came up missing and she is willing to do anything to find her boyfriend.  But during this time she meets Jacian, and she really doesn't know what to think about him because she misses her boyfriend so much.  Should she wait to see what happens to her boyfriend, or try to start something with Jacian?

Kendall is a very strong girl to have something mysterious going on in her life.  She tries to hold it together.  She does a really good job doing it to.  Plus I would want her as a friend because she never gives up on her missing boyfriend.  She is willing to do anything to find him.

Cryer's Cross is a one of a kind book.  I love it.  It is such a great story and a very creepy story.  I didn't know what to expect with it.  I went into this book not knowing anything.  I think that that is the best way to go into a book.  I loved it even more not knowing anything about it.  Lisa McMann you have out done yourself yet again.....

My Rating:

I am giving this book a 5 out 5 stars!  Please do yourself a favor....go and get this book and read it....NOW!!!!

Waiting on Wednesday {9}

Hello all, its Wednesday!  That means that we are officially almost to the end of the week! :)  I really can not wait until this weekend because I am doing....NOTHING!   I am going to sit in my apartment and read!  It is going to be the best weekend ever!

But we are not here to talk about this.  We are here to talk about the book that I can not wait to be able to read...

And this book is....

Shatter Me

Shatter Me

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting asThe Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel. -Goodreads-

I have heard many great things about this book I am so excited to read it....hopefully I will get it for Christmas...:)

Shade
By: Jeri Smith-Ready
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Pages: 309
Source: Borrowed from Library

Goodreads Synopsis:

Love ties them together. Death can't tear them apart.

Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last.

Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone.

Well, sort of.

Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost.

It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding—and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit.

As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart...and clues to the secret of the Shift.

My Thoughts:

What if there was a world that you could keep in touch with your loved ones after they have passed???  I actually really don't know how I feel about it.  I mean if it was my family and their death was tragic, I don't think that I would want to keep in touch with them.  I would just really want to move on.  Well in this book Aura doesn't have that option.  She can see and talk to the dead that walk among the Earth.  And now she is communicating with her dead boyfriend.  But should she wait and stay together with her ghost of a boyfriend, or should she go for the very much alive and drop dead gorgeous Zachary????

I am not going to lie.  This book, at first, was very hard to get through.  I think that I was waiting for it to be very romantic between Zachary and Aura.  And when it really didn't I was kind of disappointed.  When Zachary finally tells Aura how he feels, is when I actually really started loving the book.

The book was a really good book.  I am hoping that Shift is going to be a lot better.  If you can get past the fact that the book is about a girl that has a boyfriend that dies and she stays with him then this book is for you.  But I am so glad that I read this book.  It opened me to a new world, a world of Zachary and how hot Scottish boys are!! :)  When I was told about Zachary I didn't know what to expect.  I was told that you are going to crush over Zachary and you are going to crush hard.  Boy did I crush hard.  I kind of love Zachary. He is awesome.  And I am now TEAM ZACHARY!!!  I am so glad that I decided to read this book for him.

Oh and that there is a book that character loves Notre Dame Football just as much as I do!!!!  GO IRISH!!!

My Rating:

I am giving this book a 4 out 5 stars.  I think  that every girl out there should meet Zachary.  :) Please go and read this book.

Guest Post: One for the Money

One for the Money
By: Janet Evanovich
Publisher: HarperTouch
Pages: 304
Source:  Bought for fun

Goodreads Synopsis:

Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, home to wiseguys, average Joes, and Stephanie Plum, who sports a big attitude and even bigger money problems (since losing her job as a lingerie buyer for a department store). Stephanie needs cash--fast--but times are tough, and soon she's forced to turn to the last resort of the truly desperate: family.

Stephanie lands a gig at her sleazy cousin Vinnie's bail bonding company. She's got no experience. But that doesn't matter. Neither does the fact that the bail jumper in question is local vice cop Joe Morelli. From the time he first looked up her dress to the time he first got into her pants to the time Steph hit him with her father's Buick, M-o-r-e-l-l-i has spelled t-r-o-u-b-l-e. And now the hot guy is in hot water--wanted for murder.

Abject poverty is a great motivator for learning new skills, but being trained in the school of hard knocks by people like psycho prizefighter Benito Ramirez isn't. Still, if Stephanie can nab Morelli in a week, she'll make a cool ten grand. All she has to do is become an expert bounty hunter overnight--and keep herself from getting killed before she gets her man. -Goodreads-

Tascha's Thoughts:

First off, I must say that I am oddly obsessed with this series of books. I have read them all at least three times and when my sister asked me to write a review of the first installment I decided to read it again. I just can not get enough of Stephanie Plum!!! I'm so freaking stoked about this novel being made into a movie! I feel like Jessie Spano in "Saved by the Bell" singing out loud... "I'm sooo excited and I just can't hide it!!!!" (minus the speeders, of course! Ha!)

The book takes place in Trenton, New Jersey. Stephanie Plum is divorced and out of work. Desperate for money, she blackmails her cousin, Vinnie, into giving her a shot at being a bounty hunter for his bail bonds company. Getting to work on her first case, she realizes she will be hunting down the man who convinced her at six to play a game of choo choo train in his garage and ten years later play hide the cannoli behind the eclair case at the bakery... Joe Morelli.

Not having the first clue on how to capture a fugitive and not too keen on handling a gun, Stephanie, has to rely on pure luck to make it as a bounty hunter. With some help from Vinnies top Apprehension Agent, Ranger, she does learn some tricks of the trade, but mostly looks like Calamity Jane!

This book is hilarious, fast paced, full of suspense.... an all around great read.

Evanovich struck gold with this series and it has all the makings of a great movie and hopefully in the future a great series of movies! It is relatable to every woman who has wanted a great adventure in their life, Hot love interests, and a crazy family!

If you have not read any of these books, please do! You will not be disappointed! For those who have read them 18 will be out in November and I've already preordered my copy!!!

:)

And for your enjoyment....

Thanks Tascha for another great review!!!
