Goodreads Synopsis:

Eighteen-year-old maid Tess Davies is determined to escape the wealthy, troubled family she serves. It’s 1912, and Tess has been trapped in the employ of the Lisles for years, amid painful memories and twisted secrets. But now the Lisle family is headed to America, with Tess in tow. Once the ship they’re sailing on—the RMS Titanic—reaches its destination, Tess plans to strike out and create a new life for herself.

Her single-minded focus shatters when she meets Alec, a handsome first-class passenger who captivates her instantly. But Alec has secrets of his own. He’s in a hurry to leave Europe, and whispers aboard the ship say it’s because of the tragic end of his last affair with the French actress who died so gruesomely and so mysteriously. . . .

Soon Tess will learn just how dark Alec’s past truly is. The danger they face is no ordinary enemy: werewolves exist and are stalking him—and now her, too. Her growing love for Alec will put Tess in mortal peril, and fate will do the same before their journey on the Titanic is over.

In Fateful, New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray delivers paranormal adventure, dark suspense, and alluring romance set against the opulent backdrop of the Titanic’s first—and last—voyage. -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

First and for most I want to tell you how big of a sucker I am for stories set in or about the Titanic.  I love the Titanic just as much as I love chocolate.  I love learning about, I actually at one point in time wanted to go and see the Titanic....okay maybe I still do.  Anyone want to go with me????

Any way when I first heard about the book I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it because I didn't want anything to change about the history of the ship.  I bought the book at a signing I went to in Naperville Illinois for the Dark Days Tour.  I had a great time meeting the authors and what not.  They were all great and I got some great books while I was there.  I have read some other Claudia Gray books, and I have to admit....I wasn't really sold.  I mean her writing is amazing and she is a awesome person to meet face to face.  But I just wasn't in love with her stories.  Then I read Fateful.

Fateful was everything that I could ever ask for in a book.  It was pure amazingness.  You really feel for the characters, especially Tess.  You just want everything to work out for her.  Tess is a servant maid to a very wealthy family that is about to embark on a journey to America.  They are going to travel by ship....a very big ship called the Titanic.  While on the ship she meets a very handsome man that doesn't care that she is a servant or a maid.  He cares about her.  He would do anything for her.  He would even throw her overboard from a sinking ship.  Fateful is amazing....thrilling....and romantic all wrapped up into one great book!  Claudia have out done yourself this time.  You have really wrote a piece of art!

If you haven't read Fateful, you really need to do yourself a favor and do so.   You are truly missing out.  This is defiantly a book worth reading!

My Rating:

I am giving this book 5 out of 5 was that good!!!!
