Well this week has been a very interesting week! A lot has happened both at work and at home. On Tuesday my father in law was in his garden when he backed up and accidentally stepped on his cat's tail. His cat in returned bit him. His leg never healed the right way and after many trips to the doctor, his doctor finally told him to go to the ER and have them check for blood clots. This got very scary. They admitted him and he has been there since. He is getting better day by day and his wounds are even looking better. A wound specialist comes in every day and helps clean and drain the wounds. We are hoping that he will return home in the next couple days. Well on with In My Mailbox! In my Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren!
Some of the books I have had that I have forgotten about, ( thanks Jenn for going through my books:)) and some are one that I just recently bought.
The Reapers are the Angels
By: Alden Bell
For twenty-five years, civilization has survived in meager enclaves, guarded against a plague of the dead. Temple wanders this blighted landscape, keeping to herself and keeping her demons inside her heart. She can't remember a time before the zombies, but she does remember an old man who took her in and the younger brother she cared for until the tragedy that set her on a personal journey toward redemption. Moving back and forth between the insulated remnants of society and the brutal frontier beyond, Temple must decide where ultimately to make a home and find the salvation she seeks.
I am really excited to get my nose into this book! The more I read about this book and the more I read on the back of the book makes me want to read it now! :)
Five Flavors of Dumb
By: Antony John
The Challenge: Piper has one month to get the rock band Dumb a paying gig.
The Deal: If she does it, Piper will become the band's manager and get her share of the profits.
The Catch: How can Piper possibly manage one egomaniacal pretty boy, one talentless piece of eye candy, one crush, one silent rocker, and one angry girl? And how can she do it when she's deaf?
Piper can't hear Dumb's music, but with growing self-confidence, a budding romance, and a new understanding of the decision her family made to buy a cochlear implant for her deaf baby sister, she discovers her own inner rock star and what it truly means to be a flavor of Dumb. -Goodreads-
I bought this book a while back ago and I totally forgot about, even though every time Lynn saw it she reminded me I bought the book! LOL
The Iron King
By: Julie Kagawa
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
I have heard really good things about this series! I couldn't pass it up when it was on sale!
this lullaby
By: Sarah Dessen
When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about? -Goodreads-
This was a super steal and I am happy to get my nose into this!
