Goodreads Synopsis:
Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose…
It's winter break at St. Vladimir's, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy's crawling with Guardians—including Rose's hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn't bad enough, Rose's tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason's got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price…
My Thoughts:
So when I first read Vampire Academy I was not sure if I would like or really hate it. Boy was I wrong....I loved it!!!! I love the story about Rose and Lisa and their bond together. Rose meeting Dimitri, and you automatically needing to know if they get together or not. And many other characters that Rose meets while she is at St. Vladimir's.
This book is book 2 in the series and many things are happening to Rose this year. All she wants to do is keep her grades up and graduate so she can become Lissa's guardian. She has many challenges during this year including whether or not to date Dimitri....She and the class are approaching Christmas break and all the school wants is to be able to enjoy their vacation. And that may not happen!
Rose is a very strong willed girl and she knows what she wants and what she needs to be come a guardian. She knows there are many things that are in her way with both becoming a guardian and finding her true love.
This book was amazing! You really feel for the Rose and all of her issues in her family. You know that it is more than just beef with her mom. You know that there is something happening in her family, but you just don't know what.
My Rating:
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. It is defiantly a book that you should read. But you defiantly need to read the first book to go with the series. There is some back story that you need to know that is in Vampire Academy that is not in Frostbite!
