Goodreads Synopsis:

Grace Doll had everything a girl could want: Fame. Fortune. Beauty.

Everything except, of course, her freedom. So when a powerful movie producer forces an experimental treatment on Grace--one that's purported to make beauty immortal--she stages her own death to escape him.

With the help of trusted friends, Grace slips into hiding. She's forever flawless, forever young and forever pursued by her past.

But when a stranger arrives on her doorstep, holding the key to a life she thought she'd left behind, Grace must decide between the safety she's known... and embracing the role she was born to play.

My Thoughts:

I really didn't know what to expect when I first heard about this book.  I really thought it was going to be something that I hated.  But boy was I wrong.  This book was more then a pretty cover and a story that makes you keeps going and wanting more.  It was a tale, a tale about a girls journey that makes her survive.  When I read the first couple chapters I was very thrown back with what was happening on the pages.  I didn't know that this was going to happen.  But then the remarkable happened.  She is given a second chance!

You meet Grace Doll.  She has everything you think that you would want in a life.  Fame, Beauty, and money.  And best of all a man that can't keep his hands off of her.  But that is what is trapping her in this life.  The man that owns her, yes own her won't let her go.  He keeps her around for his needs and not hers.

When this was all happening on the pages, I found myself yelling at the book for her just to get up and leave.  I mean that is what I would do.  I understand every situation is different, but I was really waiting for her to just pick up and leave.

But the book was a lot more then a tale about a girl that was kept against her will to please the man that owns her.  It was about being empowered.  It was about a girls journey from girl to women and her life.  It was beyond a good book.  I am so happy that I had the pleasure in being involved in the Blog tour for this amazing book.  Jennifer did an amazing job putting this very awkward world to life.  If all of her books are as great as this one, I need to find them all and read them right now!!!!!

My Rating:

Release Date: July 10, 2012
Pages: 467

Goodreads Synopsis:

Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty's anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high.
Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen's Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.
In her exquisitely written fantasy debut, Rachel Hartman creates a rich, complex, and utterly original world. Seraphina's tortuous journey to self-acceptance is one readers will remember long after they've turned the final page.  -Goodreads-

My Thoughts:

I personally have never a book like this before.  but once I started it I could not put it down.  It was so worth everything and much much more.  I am definitely a kiss and swoon type of girl.  I didn't know what to expect with a fantasy novel.  I mean I never even read the Harry Potter books..... please do not hurt me.... :( But if all fantasy books are like this one, I want to read every one that I can get my hands on.

This book had everything that I wanted and more.  It will be a book that I recommend to everyone that asks about a good fantasy book that deals with dragons!  I mean come on!!!  DRAGONS!!!! They are so in right now it  is not even funny.

Do yourself a favor and go and buy this book.  I don't care if it is on Kindle, nook, or if you go to the store, but you need to go and read this amazing story!  Rachel Hartman really does an amazing job.

My Rating:

I am giving this book 4 out 5 stars!!!!

Oh but wait there is more!!! :)
