Shiver

Shiver
By: Maggie Stiefvater
Publisher: Scholastic
Pages: 390
Source: The book was given to me.

Goodreads synopsis
the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

My Thoughts:
So I am not going to lie....it took me forever to get through this book.  Last week I had family in town, so not much reading was done.  And this week so far has been really crazy with work.  But I came home today and sat on my balcony and read until the bugs weren't hungry anymore and I was finished with the book.

The book started off so well.  I wanted Sam to tell Grace that he loved her right off the bat  ( that didn't happen),  I didn't want them to  run into any trouble (that didn't happen), and I wanted everything to work our between them (that sorta happens).  About half way through the book I was really wanting some action.  I felt the book lacked that but was great everywhere else.  And then the end hit! Oh my God the end.  I did not see that coming at all.  Everything from Jack kidnapping Grace to Sam changing for good in front of Grace. I didn't know how to accept what was going on.  I cried when Jack died. And I automatically assumed that if Jack died Sam for sure was gone.  Then Grace sees him!  AND HE IS HUMAN.

I really want to pick of Linger and read it to see what happens between Grace and Sam, but it will have to wait...hopefully not long :)

My rating

I am giving the book 4 out of 5.  I really liked everything about it.  I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone that wants a easy read.

GLEE SONG OF THE WEEK!! (3)

So after some much thinking and listening to my glee playlist on shuffle I think that I have finally found this weeks glee song of the week....

The Warblers- Raise your glass!!!

Now if you know me at all you would know that I LOVE this song.  This is my all time favorite glee song and the glee cast didn't even sing it....lol

This is just the song...but I really like the picture...lol

Right right, turn off the lights,
We’re gonna lose our minds tonight,
What’s the deal yo?
I love when it’s all too much,
5am turn the radio up
Where’s the rock and roll?
Party Crasher,
Panty Snatcher,
Call me up if you a gangsta
Don’t be fancy, just get dancy
Why so serious?
So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty dirty little freaks
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass
http://www.hotnewsonglyrics.com/glee-raise-your-glass-lyrics.html
Slam slam, oh hot damn
What part of party don’t you understand,
Wish you’d just freak out (freak out already)
Can’t stop, coming in hot,
I should be locked up right on the spot
It’s so on right now (so fuckin on right now)
Party Crasher,
Panty Snatcher,
Call me up if you a gangsta
Don’t be fancy, just get dancy
Why so serious?
So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty dirty little freaks
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass
(Oh shit my glass is empty, that sucks)
So if you’re too school for cool,
And you’re treated like a fool,
You can choose to let it go
We can always, we can always,
Party on our own
(So raise your) So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty, dirty little freaks
So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty, dirty little freaks
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass,(for me)
Just come on and come on and raise your glass (for me)

and now just for your enjoyment...

Tune in Tuesday (2)

Tune in Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger at GReads.  It talks about the love of music in the world today.

This week I am going to talk about the MOST AMAZING BAND EVER because it was the first concert that I went to with my Hubby when we first starting dating.

Everyone....put your hands together for....

COHEED AND CAMBRIA

This is my all time favorite band.  The lead singer is also a comic book writer and all of the songs are based of the comic book...i know awesome right... Anyway this song was played at our wedding because it is my hubby and I's favorite Coheed song...I hope you all enjoy!

I'm gonna ride this plane out of your life again
I wish that I could stay, but you argue
More than this I wish, you could've seen my face
In backseats staring out, the window

I'll do anything for you
Kill anyone for you

So leave yourself intact
'Cause I will be coming back
In a phrase to cut these lips
I love you

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
Until you decide to wake up

I've earned through hope and faith
On the curves around your face
That I'm the one you'll hold forever
If morning never comes for either one of us
Then this I pray to you wherever

I'll do anything for you
This story is for you
('Cause I'd do anything you want me to for you)
I'll do anything for you
Kill anyone for you

So leave yourself intact
'Cause I won't be coming back
In a phrase to cut these lips
I loved you

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
Until you decide to wake up

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Wh-Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
'Til you decide to wake up

Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and a tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape — to find her twin brother and go home. But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bent on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. With the help of Gabriel, a servant Rhine is growing dangerously attracted to, Rhine attempts to break free, in the limited time she has left. -Goodreads

Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabe's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both.
Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability -- and it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a dream catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd feared....

Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week the book that I am eagerly anticipating is:

Forever By:  Maggie Stiefvater

The conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy. In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. InLinger, they fought to be together. Now, inForever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.

I have read the first book, which I need to do my review for that book,  and I loved it!  It is a great story that has everything that a book needs in it.

I can't wait to get my hands on this book!

Tune in Tuesday!!!

So I decided that I would start the meme Tune is Tuesdays hosted by Ginger at GReads!!!

So this being my first Tune in Tuesday post I think that I should honor it by talking about one of the greatest entertainers of all time.....ready for it.....

Miss Taylor Swift!!!

Not only am I going to see Miss Taylor in 38 days with my BFF Lynn, I also listen to her everyday....actually her CD Speak Now is playing in the background while I write this! LOL

You, with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me
You have knocked me off my feet again got me feeling like I'm nothing
You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard, calling me out when I'm wounded
You, pickin' on the weaker man

Well, you can take me down with just one single blow
But you don't know what you don't know

Someday I'll be living in a big old city
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
And all you're ever gonna be is mean

Why you gotta be so mean?

You, with your switching sides and your walk-by lies and your humiliation
You, have pointed out my flaws again as if I don't already see them
I'll walk with my head down trying to block you out 'cause I'll never impress you
I just wanna feel okay again

I'll bet you got pushed around, somebody made you cold
But the cycle ends right now 'cause you can't lead me down that road
And you don't know what you don't know

Someday I'll be living in a big old city
[- From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/t/taylor-swift-lyrics/mean-lyrics.html -]
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
And all you're ever gonna be is mean

Why you gotta be so mean?

And I can see you years from now in a bar, talking over a football game
With that same big loud opinion but nobody's listening
Washed up and ranting about the same old bitter things
Drunk and grumbling on about how I can't sing

But all you are is mean
All you are is mean and a liar and pathetic and alone in life
And mean, and mean, and mean, and mean

But someday I'll be living in a big old city
And all you're ever gonna be is mean, yeah
Someday, I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
And all you're ever gonna be is mean

Why you gotta be so mean?

Someday, I'll be, living in a big old city
(Why you gotta be so mean?)
And all you're ever gonna be is mean
(Why you gotta be so mean?)
Someday, I'll be big enough so you can't hit me
(Why you gotta be so mean?)
And all you're ever gonna be is mean

Why you gotta be so mean?

GLEE SONG OF THE WEEK!! (2)

So we are on week 2 of Glee Song of the Week!!! And after some much listening time to some of my favorite CD's in the world I have come up with the perfect song this week.  Get ready.....and the winner is.....

The Only Exception!!! This song was amazing when Paramore sang it but it was amazeballs when Rachel sings it!

Glee – The Only Exception Lyrics
When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it
And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I’d never sing of love
If it does not exist
But darling,
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we’ve got to find other ways
To make it alone
Keep a straight face
And I’ve always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I’m
Content with loneliness
Because none of it was ever worth the risk
Well, You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
I’ve got a tight grip on reality
But I can’t
Let go of what’s in front of me here
I know you’re leaving
In the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it’s not a dream
Ohh—
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
And I’m on my way to believing
Oh, And I’m on my way to believing
Glee – The Only Exception Lyrics

This is my go to song.  When I am having a bad day or I am just in need of a great love song I put this song on repeat.  Lea Michele did amazing job on this song.  I remember watching the Britany episode on this song came on and I cried.  I cried like I have never cried before....well actually I probably have cried more since.   Any who this song should have been number one on my glee song of the week, but come on nothing beats FRIDAY!!!!

:) Enjoy fellow Gleeks!
